Chude Jideonwo, Chair of HBC, will be speaking at Bloomberg’s Africa Business Media Innovators (ABMI) 2026 Forum, taking place from September 27–29 in Cape Town, South Africa. The high-level convening brings together senior leaders from media, business, technology, government, investment and civil society to examine the forces shaping Africa’s rapidly evolving media and business environment. Launched in Johannesburg in 2015 as an initiative of Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa, ABMI marks more than a decade of convening influential stakeholders to advance dialogue, innovation and sustainable growth across the continent’s media industry.
The 2026 forum focuses on some of the most consequential developments facing African media, including the impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, digital transformation, new subscription and revenue models, and the policy environment required to support investment in telecommunications and digital infrastructure. ABMI has established itself as a platform for actionable dialogue and peer learning, having convened more than 1,000 leaders across 66 countries since its inaugural gathering. Previous convenings have brought together media executives, CEOs, technology founders, investors, policymakers and other leading voices to examine practical strategies for navigating a changing media landscape.
Jideonwo’s participation reflects his extensive experience across media entrepreneurship, storytelling and the development of platforms that shape public discourse in Africa. His invitation places his perspective within a broader continental dialogue on the future of media and its role in Africa’s development.
