The FourthMainland Creator Fund announces investment in 20-year-old content creator, Kenzy Ezike for slate of films

The FourthMainland Fund has announced an investment in 20-year-old content creator Kelvin Ezike, popularly known as Kenzy, to support a slate of films being developed by the young creator and his team. With more than 5 million followers on TikTok and close to 10 million followers across his social media platforms, Kenzy has built a significant audience at an early stage of his career, positioning him as part of a new generation of African creators building at the intersection of digital content, entertainment and storytelling.

The opportunity came through Kenzy’s management team, led by Ihechi Opara, a young media entrepreneur whom Chude Jideonwo, founder of FourthMainland, describes as one of the most serious-minded young media entrepreneurs he has encountered. After spending time with Kenzy and understanding his creative ambitions, Jideonwo’s immediate assessment was that the opportunity was a “no-brainer”, a conviction that prompted the FourthMainland team to subject the proposed investment to a thorough due diligence process.

The investment followed several months of diligence, with the Fund’s team examining Kenzy’s numbers, creative plans, management structure and the wider opportunity around his work. This process reflects the FourthMainland Fund’s approach to creator investment: looking beyond audience size to identify creators with strong creative potential, compelling intellectual property and the capacity to build sustainable businesses around their work.

The investment forms part of the broader mandate of the FourthMainland Fund to identify, incubate and invest in standout African creators, providing capital and strategic support to help transform creative ideas into enduring stories, businesses and intellectual property. Through investments such as this, the Fund is building a pipeline of African creative talent while expanding opportunities for creators to develop ambitious work for audiences in Africa and beyond.
